Accredited Nutritionists and Accredited Practising Dietitians

An AN is someone who has gained a tertiary qualification in the area of nutrition. These individuals can provide expertise in a range of nutritional services including community health, public health and nutrition education within a tertiary setting. An APD however is someone who has gained their qualification through a university degree and is a committed member of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) following the code of ethics and code of professional conduct. They have the skills and qualifications to provide medical nutrition therapy as well as expert advice on nutrition and diet through both individual and group settings.
